Facilities Support Specialist

About the Role
Skanska, a leading project development and construction group, is seeking a part-time Facilities Officer to join its building services team in Scotland.
The successful candidate will provide facilities support within the Midlothian Schools PPP2 cluster, handling events via the Helpdesk, including security, reception, portering, and caretaking services. They will also be responsible for maintenance activities and be available for call-outs in the event of intruder or fire alarm calls.
Key Responsibilities
Security:
- Act as a site key holder and provide security cover, including occasional work outside of regular hours.
- Open and secure buildings, check windows, doors, perimeter gates, and fences to ensure security.
- Carry out regular inspections, such as toilets, corridors, and school grounds.
- Set the intruder alarm.
Reception:
- Manage the signing in of subcontractors for Skanska.
- Book in permit holders for lets.
- Operate BMS, Access Control, and CCTV equipment.
- Monitor CCTV at the barrier and reception door.
Portering/Caretaking:
- Move parcels, paperwork, materials, and equipment around the buildings.
- Assist with minor and major moves within the school.
- Undertake conference room set up for meetings in community rooms.
- Set up staging and retractable seating.
- Arrange room set-ups for lets and school.
Requirements
The successful candidate will need to obtain Disclosure Scotland PVG membership for Children and Adults.
