About the Role
The NIHR Intellectual Property Unit seeks a highly skilled Senior Technology Transfer Professional to join their team. As a key member of the IP Unit, you will play a vital role in ensuring that NIHR-funded intellectual property is identified, managed, and translated into impactful outcomes that improve healthcare in the UK and overseas.
You will work closely with the Head of IP and Commercial and other members of the IP Unit to plan and deliver the NIHR IP policy. This will involve supporting NIHR staff members to resolve IP-related queries, managing commercialisation cases, and contributing to the development of robust contractual terms for funding health research.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering the NIHR IP policy
- Supporting NIHR staff members to resolve IP-related queries
- Managing commercialisation cases on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care
- Contributing to the development of robust contractual terms for funding health research
- Providing IP training to NIHR programme managers and staff
What You Will Bring to the Role
The successful candidate will have a good degree in a relevant subject, detailed knowledge of life science research, and expert knowledge of best practice in intellectual property management. You will also have a proven track record in obtaining appropriate legal advice on intellectual property management issues.
