Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Design Manager to join our team at JSM Group Services Ltd. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the design activities related to electrical and civil elements of MV/HV substations, cables, and overhead lines (OHL).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage design teams, including sub-contractors and service providers, to deliver high-quality design solutions.
  • Oversee the preparation of technical specifications, production of construction drawings, and design compliance audit throughout the design process.
  • Coordinate inputs from other departments, such as survey/geotechnical, transport, and environmental.
  • Manage financial project control and reporting, including controlling agreed project schedules.
  • Ensure the design meets all client requirements and conduct engineering reviews and approvals of design drawings, reports, and construction programs.
  • Attend and chair design reviews, hazard reviews, option selection, and other related meetings.
  • Plan, manage, and monitor the pre-construction phase, including survey works, and coordinate matters relating to health and safety.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's/PhD in Electrical Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer with membership of IET.
  • Proven technical experience in the design and application of HV/MV power system plant up to and including 400kV, including an understanding of other engineering disciplines (civil, protection & control).
