At Babcock International Group, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Safety Engineer at our Devonport Royal Dockyard site, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the production and modification of safety cases and provision of technical advice to Plant Managers.

About the Role

This full-time position, 35 hours per week, offers hybrid working arrangements. As a key member of the Design and Safety Management Team, you'll support the delegated Design Authority for all Babcock owned facilities at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support hazard identification activities, including HAZOPs, checklists, and walkdowns.
  • Undertake safety assessments, applying deterministic and probabilistic analysis techniques, and produce fault schedules and fault/event trees.
  • Inform the design of nuclear and radiological facilities to reduce risks to a tolerable level.
  • Author and check technical documentation.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Hazard identification techniques
  • Safety analysis techniques
  • Technical report writing
  • Educated to Degree level in an Engineering or Scientific discipline.
  • Able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.

The estimated salary for this role is £42,000 + benefits, based on location and industry standards.
