About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health Specialist to join our team in the South region. This role will involve providing health surveillance, health screening, and fitness for role medicals to support our projects and sites.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Work under indirect supervision from qualified occupational health professionals to complete clinical tasks such as pulse, blood pressure monitoring, cholesterol checks, height/weight/BMI, audiology, spirometry, skin assessments, urinalysis, drug & alcohol screening, vision testing, and musculoskeletal assessments.
  • Gather medical data from questionnaires, face-to-face/telephone consultations, medical equipment, and escalate appropriately in line with clinical standards and procedures.
  • Support the workforce by participating in wellbeing, health & safety initiatives.
  • Comply with data protection in respect of highly sensitive medical information.
  • Work autonomously and as part of the wider occupational health and wellbeing team.
  • Maintain infection control measures when undertaking clinical tasks.
  • Manage medical equipment, including calibration checks and ordering supplies.
  • Perform administration tasks, including diary management, maintaining health records, and inputting data.


Requirements:



  • Experience in occupational health, care sector, sports science, fitness instruction/personal training, or healthcare is desirable.
  • Completion of an occupational health technicians' course and/or standalone courses for health surveillance, such as audiology, spirometry, and HAVS, or a willingness to work towards this.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and the organisation's functions within the external environment.
  • Able to develop positive working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Flexible and responsive to change.
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence with business insurance for independent travel to business locations.


What We Offer:


We provide a competitive salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a range of benefits, including 27 days holiday, bank holidays, discretionary annual bonus, above market rate contributory pension scheme, life assurance, health screening, enhanced sick pay, and more.
