Job Title: Senior Biodegradation Scientist

Labcorp is seeking a highly skilled Senior Biodegradation Scientist to join our Environmental Sciences team in Alconbury, near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing scientific leadership in delivering solutions to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of scientific strategies to maintain the company's biodegradation services at the forefront of the industry.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to ensure that biodegradation studies are performed and reported to high scientific standards in compliance with GLP, A(SP)A, and HSE regulations.
  • Develop and maintain an awareness of the competitive marketplace for biodegradation services, including commercial and service expectations.
  • Work with sales and marketing teams to maintain and develop the biodegradation reputation to clients.
  • Provide robust scientific judgment on the interpretation of study data and the impact on conclusions for reporting or subsequent studies.
  • Develop proposals for bespoke/unusual studies and programs of work, leading the scientific review and design while contributing to accurate and prompt pricing.
Requirements:
  • Minimum BSc in Chemistry or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in the field of biodegradation with in-depth scientific and regulatory knowledge related to biodegradation.
  • Strong communication, networking, and negotiating skills.
  • Objective and logical analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Good commercial and business awareness.
  • Proven project management and customer liaison skills.
