Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Technology Officer to lead our engineering research and development team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the development of our complex engineered products, comprising mechanical, electronic, and software components.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electronics product development, from concept to prototype to volume production, and will be able to lead a small team of engineers in the design and development of our products.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of technical expertise, leadership skills, and commercial awareness. You will be responsible for managing a team of engineers, including mechanical, electronics, and software engineers, and will work closely with our manufacturing and production teams to ensure the successful launch of our products.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a degree-level qualification in electronics or a related field, and will have significant experience in people management and leadership. Post-graduate qualifications or certifications are also desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the development of our complex engineered products, from concept to prototype to volume production.
  2. Manage a small team of engineers, including mechanical, electronics, and software engineers.
  3. Work closely with our manufacturing and production teams to ensure the successful launch of our products.
  4. Develop and implement commercial strategies to ensure the successful launch and growth of our products.
  5. Collaborate with our leadership team to drive the overall strategy and direction of the company.
Requirements
  1. Minimum of a degree-level qualification in electronics or a related field.
  2. Significant experience in people management and leadership.
  3. Post-graduate qualifications or certifications desirable.
  4. Commercial awareness and experience of development costs, manufacturing costs, and payback times.
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

The role will require someone to be office-based, and we are looking for someone who is able to live and work in the UK without restriction.
