### Job Overview

AECOM is seeking a Graduate Tunnelling Engineer to join our team of experts in delivering cost-effective, buildable, and state-of-the-art infrastructure projects. Our team has proven global design experience covering a wide range of tunnels in varying and challenging geological conditions.

### Key Responsibilities

* Work within a wide range of sectors, including water transfer tunnels, highway tunnels, high-speed rail, mining, airport infrastructure, onshore and offshore tunnels, and power tunnels
* Apply civil, structural, and geotechnical knowledge to design buried reinforced concrete structures
* Conduct feasibility studies and optioneering, including preliminary and detailed design, with a focus on safe construction methods
* Design tunnel, shaft, and cavern structures in hard and soft ground using various construction methods
* Identify and resolve complex engineering problems using finite element software and empirical methods

### Qualifications

* A degree in Civil or Civil and Structural Engineering with a 2:1 classification or above (or equivalent)
* An MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics/Structural/Tunnelling Engineering would be an advantage
* Previous construction experience is beneficial
* Willingness to work towards a professional qualification (ICE or IStructE)
* Demonstrable interest in tunnelling projects and understanding of tunnelling activities in the transport and utility sectors
* Commercial awareness to satisfy client and business expectations
