Job Title: Commodity Strategist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Commodity Strategist to join our team at GE Aerospace. As a key member of our commodity team, you will play a critical role in creating and driving commodity strategy in line with our wider business direction and supplier landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategies to create an efficient supply chain and reduce commodity purchase costs
  2. Define supplier relationship strategy and manage supplier relationships through the program life-cycle
  3. Lead cross-functional strategic business reviews, including performance reviews
  4. Work with the NPI team to ensure supplier selection for new programs aligns with defined strategy
  5. Determine the requirement for dual sourcing and develop best cost country opportunities
  6. Lead negotiations with suppliers to deliver long-term agreements
  7. Document negotiations and contract awards in line with company and regulatory requirements
  8. Manage commercial sourcing, including data analysis, negotiations support, and purchasing activities
  9. Negotiate the best commercial and technical package for procurement requirements
  10. Lead cost reduction activities with suppliers
  11. Support critical or systemic supplier performance recovery
  12. Minimize supplier risk by establishing strategies for risk evaluation
  13. Research potential vendors and compare their products, prices, and services
  14. Conduct analyses of market conditions and trends to predict future supply needs

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Oracle ERP
  • Lean/Continuous training and implementation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing priorities
  • Project management skills
