About the Job

We are recruiting for a Support Worker to join our team in Easterhouse, Glasgow. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting an individual with Autism and epilepsy to live independently. This role requires a high level of empathy and understanding, as well as excellent communication and organisational skills.

Your primary responsibility will be to assist the individual with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, medication management, and personal care. You will also accompany the individual to appointments and activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage personal finances and provide budgeting advice where necessary.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to the individual, promoting their independence and confidence.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An empathetic and caring nature.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence in using computers.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and on your own.
  • Good organisational skills.
Working Arrangements

This role includes day shifts lasting 12-13 hours, commencing at either 8am or 9am based on the day's scheduled activities, as well as Waking Night shifts from 8pm to 9am. You will also receive paid travel during shifts and a fuel allowance of 45p per mile.

We estimate that this role offers an annual salary of approximately £25,000 - £30,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a competitive salary range for similar roles in the sector.
