Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist assessment and intervention for people with communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement rehabilitation programs.
  • Contribute to the development of new approaches to neurological assessment and rehabilitation.
  • Provide training and support to colleagues and other healthcare professionals.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Current registration with HCPC and certified membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Postgraduate certificate in dysphagia or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of working with adults with neurological conditions and communication disorders.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of NSFs and NICE guidelines.
  • Experience of supervising and training others.
