Job Overview

The Education Trust is seeking a skilled Pastoral Support Assistant to join their team. This role will involve working closely with students, parents, and staff to provide effective pastoral support and promote a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team, focusing on behaviour and safeguarding investigations.
  • Support efforts to improve student behaviour, share best practices with colleagues, and engage in reflective dialogue.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date record-keeping, including paperwork and reports.
  • Organise and represent the school at meetings with external agencies.
  • Coordinate information and outcomes related to individual cases, serving as a focal point for external agencies, parents, and stakeholders.
  • Attend and contribute to pastoral team meetings, as required.
  • Provide pastoral support to vulnerable students, addressing behaviour issues and contacting parents as necessary.
  • Participate in the school's Performance Management and Continuing Professional Development programme.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience in a pastoral setting, with a track record of establishing positive relationships and dealing with challenging students.
  • Patience, tolerance, and sensitivity, along with a mature and non-judgmental outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, communicate clearly, and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Able to demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills, with a willingness to accept responsibility and prioritise effectively.
