Job Description:

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced General Foreman to join our client's Southwest team to deliver civil engineering projects, including earthworks, concrete, and drainage works for local authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of operatives and sub-contractors to construct works safely, to programme, and to the required quality standards.
  • Direct the work of operatives and sub-contractors.
  • Ensure environmental systems are implemented satisfactorily.
  • Contribute to the preparation of programmes.
  • Plan and order materials and plant to achieve programmes.
  • Keep daily records of work carried out.
  • Ensure that works proceed in accordance with site programmes.
  • Ensure all plant on site is suitable for the task and conforms to current legislation.
  • Ensure all work complies with quality, safety, and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures.

Requirements:

  • An industry-applicable qualification.
  • Demonstrable civil engineering experience within heavy civils.
  • Experience of working on large-scale civil engineering projects.
  • Previous experience in management or supervisory roles.
  • Competent understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
  • Full driver's license.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
