As a Fire Safety Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of fire safety are met within the organization. This includes overseeing compliance with regulations, providing training to staff, and staying up-to-date on any legal or building regulation changes.
Key Responsibilities- Be the primary point of contact for technical queries relating to fire and life safety.
- Ensure compliance with fire strategies within the business, particularly during project and construction works.
- Support achieving compliance with the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order (2005), specifically Part 1, Article 5 and Part 2, Articles 8-23.
- Conduct Fire Risk Assessments and ensure recommendations are considered and action taken against them in a timely manner.
- Stay current with legal and building regulation changes to update design standards and ways of working accordingly.
- Hold a qualification in fire engineering or fire safety management at Degree or Diploma level (or equivalent).
- Demonstrate a good understanding of Engineering principles.
- Membership of IFE or IFSM is desirable.
- Have knowledge of fire safety systems and prevention methods.
- Experience in applying technical standards.
- Ability to understand and apply knowledge of fire safety standards and guidance documents.
- Act as a subject matter expert to ensure the organization remains legally compliant.
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across all levels, being highly approachable and a strong communicator with influence over behaviors.
- Responsible for supporting the lead of the fire safety function.
- Able to work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A competitive salary of £65,000 per annum.
