We are working with a leading Cyber Security specialist, Jago Consultants, who are recruiting for a Penetration Tester with a minimum of 3-years experience in a client-facing consultative environment.

This role will be both challenging and rewarding, working on multiple different projects that provide exposure to different industries and clients across the UK and USA. Some international travel may be required, subject to COVID restrictions.

You'll be liaising directly with business or IT representatives to provide expert advice on the mitigation of discovered flaws or implementing state-of-the-art security mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver penetration testing services in line with approved processes and industry standards.
  2. Provide customers with relevant advice relating to identified findings and recommendations, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  3. Perform conclusive impact research on security vulnerabilities and popular computing technologies, staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends.
  4. Collaborate with team members to increase security knowledge and best practices, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Recognised cyber security certifications or proven experience in penetration testing/cyber security roles, preferably CREST accredited.
  2. Has worked in a client-facing consultative environment, either with internal or external customers, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Knowledge of security assessment and audit tools, techniques, and methodologies, including penetration testing and ethical hacking.
  4. Good knowledge of network protocols and services, including the OSI model, IP networking, TCP/IP familiarity, HTTP, SMTP, and more.
  5. Familiarity with standard Office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and project management tools.
  6. Understanding of cryptographic concepts and technologies, including encryption methods and protocols.
  7. Experience with commercial and public domain security tools and software, including firewalls, IPS, content management, anti-malware, and more.
