About the Role
Capita plc is seeking a qualified Military Medical Examiner to support the Royal Air Force in the South West of the UK. This part-time role requires strong clinical skills, IT literacy, and excellent organisational abilities. As a Military Medical Examiner, you will be responsible for conducting face-to-face medical assessments, reviewing medical records, and providing recommendations to the Royal Air Force colleagues.

The role contributes to national security and the local community. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting clinical work, including face-to-face medical assessments against the Tri-service entry medical standard, assessing candidate's medical records as part of the medical assessment process, updating the Capita Service Entry Medical Report (SEMR) with the findings and results of the candidate medical assessment, and making recommendations to the Royal Air Force colleagues on the medical suitability of the candidates.

This is an attractive package, including a salary of 48,000, company car, and excellent work/life balance. Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting clinical work, including face-to-face medical assessments against the Tri-service entry medical standard
  • Assessing candidate's medical records as part of the medical assessment process
  • Updating the Capita Service Entry Medical Report (SEMR) with the findings and results of the candidate medical assessment including medical records and the face to face examination
  • Assessing the clinical conditions of candidates to determine their fitness for entry into the Royal Air Force
  • Making recommendations to the Royal Air Force colleagues on the medical suitability of the candidates
  • Maintaining GMC registration, licence to practise, accreditation and skill mix

Key Requirements:
A fully GMC qualified medical practitioner with licence to practise, IT literacy and experience with Microsoft programmes, flexibility to travel, with a full UK driver's licence, excellent organisational skills, ability to work effectively and efficiently to tight deadlines, and effective communicator in person and on paper.
