Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Trade Effluent Sampling Officer to join our Asset Management (Waste) department at Yorkshire Water. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting sampling and inspections of industrial discharges against pre-defined parameters and legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sampling and inspections of industrial discharges to ensure compliance with regulations and legislation.
  • Generate data to support enforcement action against non-compliant traders.
  • Act as a professional witness in court proceedings as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, operational teams, and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • A full valid driving licence is a requirement of this role.
  • Good understanding and use of IT, particularly MS Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and take ownership of assigned caseload.
  • Good influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Experience of Health and Safety management processes and systems.
