About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Assistant to join our team at Oasis Academy Lords Hill. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide high-quality support to students, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN). You will be responsible for assisting with lesson planning, implementing individualized education plans, and providing additional academic and social support to students as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons, including preparation of materials and resources
  • Implement individualized education plans and provide additional academic and social support to students as needed
  • Support students with SEN, including those with physical or emotional difficulties
  • Work collaboratively with other support staff to ensure seamless provision of support services
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and development
  • Contribute to the overall learning environment by promoting positive behavior and attitudes among students

Requirements:

  • GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Experience of working with children in a secondary school setting
  • Understanding of SEN and disability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
