Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our Renewable Energy team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for building and managing a profitable Renewable Energy portfolio within our Onshore Energy line of business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and service an underwriting portfolio that contributes to the Line of Business plan and goals of the Company, providing regular reports on business operations and results to the management team.
  • Ensure underwriting and servicing of risks is both timely and accurate, adhering to all Arch underwriting/compliance guidelines, service standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide regular direction and leadership to underwriting team to achieve specific underwriting line of business and broader corporate strategic objectives.
  • Determine the desirability of accepting or rejecting business risks, price exposures in accordance with filed and approved rate levels, discretionary pricing mechanisms, and business unit guidelines.
  • Identify the need, recommend, and evaluate additional risk assessment information, including inspection, financial reports, and statements.
  • Coordinate individual risk underwriting actions with other departments to assure the highest level of customer satisfaction while meeting production and business goals.
  • Perform product development and marketing activities, including identifying producer relationships within assigned market to optimize best solutions for distribution, identifying and suggesting new and modified products, identifying producers for business/marketing programs, and analyzing producers and market opportunities.
  • Maintain ongoing liaison with producers to obtain supplemental underwriting information, evaluate risks, decline risks, analyze and interpret coverage, explain underwriting requirements and expectations, and present terms.
  • Regularly interface with customers to provide service and to keep abreast of customer issues.
  • Set ceded reinsurance actions in accordance with Arch Insurance and business unit guidelines.
