Key Responsibilities:- Supervision & Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Production Welders, driving productivity and ensuring work is completed to high standards.
- Work Scheduling & Planning: Collaborate with other supervisors to effectively schedule and coordinate work within the welding section, plan and allocate resources, and adapt to changing production needs.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain strict quality control measures, ensuring that all welding work meets the required standards, and implement quality assurance practices to minimize errors.
- Technical Support & Process Improvement: Provide technical guidance and support to the welding team, contribute to the improvement of products and production processes, and stay informed of the latest welding technologies and techniques.
- Consumables & Equipment Management: Manage and oversee the use of consumables, ensure that all welding equipment is well-maintained, and coordinate repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Minimum of 5 years of welding experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Extensive knowledge of TIG and MIG welding, preferably in batch production of thin sheet mild steel and stainless steel.
- Strong technical proficiency in welding processes, with a deep understanding of quality standards.
- Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
- Salary up to £34K DOE.
