Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Sureserve Group. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for controlling financial aspects of social housing contracts, reporting on financial performance, and maximizing margin.

• Liaise with project stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
• Assist contracts manager and site manager on legal and financial aspects to reduce risk
• Audit contract documents and highlight discrepancies
• Produce accurate cash flow forecasts and update as work proceeds
• Develop detailed cost plans and buying schedules for each project
• Prepare preliminary expenditure schedules for discussion and agreement
• Identify suitable work packages and sub-contractors
• Ensure subcontract orders are placed in line with project financial targets
• Conduct comprehensive analysis of quotations and ensure adequate documentation
• Issue valuations and maintain draft final accounts
• Assess sub-contractor accounts and produce payment certificates

• Experience in QS running financial aspects of social housing construction projects
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel
• Strong time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
• Self-driven, results-oriented, and positive attitude
• Clear focus on customer satisfaction
• Good planner and able to assess own performance
• Reliable, tolerant, empathetic, and team player

• Competitive salary: £45,000 to £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
• 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
