Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Clinical Health Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with colleagues from medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, dietetics, and social work to provide high-quality psychological care to patients with complex needs.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in specialist psychological assessment and treatment of patients with physical health problems, including cystic fibrosis. You will be responsible for providing clinical supervision to junior staff members and contributing to service development, training, and research initiatives.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Health Psychologist to take on a senior role within our team, working closely with our Band 8B Clinical Psychologist to provide high-quality care to patients. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the knowledge and skills base within the cystic fibrosis service for adults and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

About the Role:

As a Senior Clinical Health Psychologist, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing specialist psychological assessment and treatment to patients with complex physical health needs.
  • Providing clinical supervision to junior staff members and supporting their professional development.
  • Contributing to service development, training, and research initiatives within the cystic fibrosis service.
  • Working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care and develop new services and programs.
  • Maintaining accurate records of patient care and contributing to quality improvement initiatives within the service.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • At least 5 years' experience as a Clinical Health Psychologist, with significant experience in specialist psychological assessment and treatment of patients with physical health problems.
  • Experience of providing clinical supervision to junior staff members and contributing to service development, training, and research initiatives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records of patient care and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
