Metadata Innovator Role

Monash University Library is seeking a Metadata Innovator to deliver the Library's Metadata Strategy and support the Content and Collections Manager in the delivery of the Library's operations and practice. The successful candidate will manage the Library's metadata creation, management, and dissemination functions, ensuring that metadata relating to content and collections supports discovery and access in global digital networks.

The Metadata Innovator will explore and implement strategic and innovative solutions to maximise the impact and value of metadata for Monash researchers, identities, and collections managed by the Library. This will involve engaging with content providers, platforms, consortia, standards, and global initiatives on behalf of the Library to optimise and disseminate metadata that connects users to Monash content and collections, and enables enriched data-based services.

The successful candidate will provide leadership to metadata specialists in Collection Description, Data Quality, and Research Output Collections Services (ROCS) in the delivery of high-level and professional services for effective achievement of the Library's priorities, and provide expert advice at both strategic and operational levels.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the Library's metadata creation, management, and dissemination functions
