Financial Operations Manager

This is a key position in the Finance Team at Corporate Travel Management (CTM) UK, responsible for managing the financial operations related to Meetings and Events. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate customer billing and collections, accurate supplier payments, and the reconciliation of each event to ensure profitability is understood and reported.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the CTM Meeting and Events operational management team to understand commercial expectations and prepare budgets for each event.
- Raise deposit invoices for pre-payment from clients as defined in the scope of works.
- Ensure timely receipt of cash for each invoice and allocation within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) by the cash allocation team.
- Process supplier invoices in a timely manner and reconcile to client invoicing.
- Perform full reconciliation of all events at completion within agreed timelines and ensure the client final invoice is issued to facilitate balancing payments.
- Invoice commission on event completion and collect all commission to payment terms agreed.
- Verify accounting is completed to recognize correct profitability for each event in the same accounting period.
- Report on project profitability and balance sheet values as required by Financial and Operational management.
- Address financial queries from clients and suppliers and negotiate settlement where appropriate.
- Consistently and correctly allocate all costs and revenue to the correct project, either manually or with the use of system coding.
- Perform ad hoc tasks as required by Events and Financial Management.
- Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience for a similar-sized organization.
- Experience working within a ledger environment – Purchase or Sales ledger.
- Experience delivering exceptional service to operational and commercial business teams.
- Excellent Excel and analytical skills and experience using Microsoft products.
- Ability to perform financial reconciliations.
- Use of an accounting ledger or mid-office system.
- Strong attention to detail and a controlled approach.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with non-Finance employees.
- Experience in designing, implementing, and continuously improving finance procedures and work instructions an advantage.
- Travel Industry experience an advantage.
