Job Title: Systems Engineer

At Leonardo, we design complete air vehicles, and as a member of our Systems Engineering Team, you will participate in all phases of the product design life cycle, from leading-edge innovation to supporting aging aircraft.

As part of our team, you will define, instigate, and execute activities required to design, develop, and qualify avionic systems in response to specific customer requirements.

  • You will work closely with customers to derive system-level requirements.
  • You will manage external suppliers to deliver equipment that meets these requirements.
  • You will work with systems integration and test to prove and qualify the avionic system.
  • You will have experience of integration, qualification, and certification of the latest Cockpit Display, Navigation, Mission, or Armament systems.
  • You will have experience of avionics interface protocols, e.g. ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553B, Ethernet/AFDX.
  • You will have experience of creating and editing systems documentation.
  • You will have the ability to communicate equally across multi-functional teams and at all levels.


Requirements:

  • Engineering Degree in a relevant subject (Electrical/Electronics/Aeronautical) or equivalent experience.
  • A proven background in developing avionics in an aerospace environment (civil or military).
  • A specific in-depth knowledge and recent experience in the design, development, integration, and qualification of avionics systems (civil or military).
  • A knowledge and appreciation of the full Systems Engineering lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication and team working skills.
