About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled VAT expert to join our team in BDO UK. As a VAT Associate Director, you will be responsible for providing tax advisory services to clients in the real estate and construction sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide VAT compliance and advisory services to clients in the real estate and construction sector.
  • Manage a large and varied client portfolio, including start-ups, scale-ups, private businesses, and FTSE listed multinationals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients at senior level, as well as other levels as appropriate.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for selling new services to existing clients.
  • Work closely with HMRC and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with VAT regulations.

Requirements

  • Significant understanding of and previous experience within UK VAT.
  • In-depth knowledge of recent key updates and areas of focus in Real estate and construction VAT.
  • Ability to manage a large and varied client portfolio.
  • Ability to actively seek opportunities for selling new services to existing clients.
  • Experience of dealing direct with HMRC.
  • Experience of dealing with client senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Ideal CTA and/or ACA qualified or equivalent.
