Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Therapy Support Worker to join our team on Davenport Ward, a specialist ward for older people with functional mental health conditions. As a Therapy Support Worker, you will work closely with patients, therapy staff, and the multidisciplinary team to deliver planned therapeutic interventions and activities.
Main Responsibilities- Deliver one-to-one and group therapeutic interventions, including practice of everyday activities, relaxation, anxiety management programs, and exercise.
- Work under the guidance of our Senior Occupational Therapist to facilitate safe and effective discharges, including taking patients home and into the community for assessment and leave.
- Collaborate with the therapy and nursing teams, including the ward activity organizer, to enhance multidisciplinary teamwork and practice on the ward.
- NVQ 3 or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Experience of working with older people and/or in a mental health setting.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to work as part of a team.
