Job Description:

London Gatwick is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Airport Systems Maintenance Specialist to join its Specialist Systems Engineering team.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring the highest maintenance standards and customer experience at Gatwick Airport. As a member of a 24/7 shift roster, you will be responsible for carrying out corrective and preventative maintenance activities on various assets, including walk-through metal detectors, cabin baggage X-Ray machines, and complex systems like liquid explosive detection and CCTV.

You will work closely with the team to undertake planned maintenance, review asset performance data, and improve performance. Additionally, you will utilize Computerised Maintenance Management Systems to drive individual and asset performance.

The successful candidate will possess advanced technical skills, particularly in electrical/mechanical/control system engineering. A strong understanding of schematic drawings and ability to interpret them are essential. You will also have experience working in a maintenance environment and hold a Class B UK driving licence.

Gatwick Airport offers a competitive salary range of £41,130.83, plus shift allowance, bonus, and benefits. These include a performance-based bonus scheme, high street shops and restaurant discounts, healthcare scheme, life and disability insurance, professional training, and discounted travel to work schemes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out corrective and preventative maintenance activities on airport assets.
  • Review asset performance data and improve performance.
  • Utilize Computerised Maintenance Management Systems to drive individual and asset performance.
  • Ensure all engineering and operational records are updated.
Requirements:
  • Advanced modern apprenticeship (Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic) or equivalent.
  • Core skill/bias of Electrical/Mechanical Engineering to at least ONC level (Level 3).
  • Technical experience working in a maintenance environment.
  • Ability to understand and interpret electrical and mechanical schematic drawings.
  • Class B UK driving licence.
