About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic, assessment, and treatment services for children and adolescents with mental health problems.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, promoting high-quality care and adopting a multi-disciplinary approach to care. Your expertise will be invaluable in providing psychiatric support and consultation to other team members, as well as consultation and liaison with other services, including social services, residential settings, and education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide diagnostic, assessment, and treatment services for children and adolescents with mental health problems
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to promote high-quality care
  • Provide psychiatric support and consultation to other team members
  • Consult and liaise with other services, including social services, residential settings, and education
  • Hold clinical responsibility for your caseload of patients
  • Develop close and effective working relationships with colleagues in allied agencies
Person Specification

We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist with the following qualifications and experience:

  • MB BS or equivalent recognised medical qualification
  • Full medical registration with a license to practice
  • Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act or equivalent
  • Relevant higher degree, e.g. MD, PhD, MSc or other additional clinical qualifications
  • MRCPsych or equivalent
  • Management qualification or evidence of an interest in developing leadership skills
