Quantity Surveyor Opportunity at Kier Construction

Kier Construction is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our North East business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and mitigating cost and risk on projects, ensuring value for money while meeting legal standards and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize project work packages for procurement, assess returns from sub-contractors, and award work packages.
  • Negotiate with sub-contractor supply chain to achieve best value.
  • Manage applications for payment from sub-contractors and prepare applications for payment to clients.
  • Monitor and measure actual expenditure against budgeted project expenditure.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualification in quantity surveying.
  • Prior quantity surveying experience gained within the main contractor environment.
  • Strong knowledge of delivering under NEC / JCT Contract conditions.
  • Confidence in dealing with client representatives, sub-contractors, and internal stakeholders.
