Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is seeking two highly motivated Advanced Clinical Practitioners to join our dedicated Haematology team.
We are offering two unique opportunities, one specializing in malignant haematology services and the other in non-malignant haematology services. You will work alongside a skilled team of five Consultant Haematologists and four Clinical Nurse Specialists within our District General Hospital setting. Our strong links with the tertiary centre in Leeds ensure our patients receive the highest quality care and treatment.
As a trainee ACP, you will embark on a rewarding career path, progressing from Band 6 to Band 7 at 18 months and ultimately to Band 8a within three years. This full-time position operates Monday to Friday, offering a balanced work schedule.
Your Responsibilities- Provide expert advanced clinical practice, nursing leadership, collaborative working, service improvement, and education to staff and patients across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Act as a clinical expert, practicing autonomously as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner within haematology. This includes delivering independent assessments, clinical examinations, clinical decision-making, and planning of care and treatment, including independent prescribing.
- Offer inpatient advice and support to medical teams and ward staff for patients with haematological conditions. Build strong professional relationships to ensure safe and high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team and play a vital role in the operational and strategic development of the haematology service. Provide professional leadership for the Clinical Nurse Specialist team.
- Deliver a range of education and learning strategies to meet the needs of healthcare professionals providing care and treatment for patients with haematological malignancies across the organization.
You will be joining a motivated, hardworking, and cohesive team dedicated to further developing our service. Working within a District General Hospital allows you to manage a diverse range of conditions, contributing to a dynamic and challenging work environment.
Your Qualifications- Registered General Nurse – active registration with the NMC
- MSc in Advanced Practice
- Teaching qualification
- Accredited advanced Communication skills training
- Non-Medical Prescribing
- Clinical Assessment and examination qualification at Master's level
- Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development demonstrated through a professional portfolio
- Extensive experience in a senior position (band 7 or above) in haematology
- Experience of multi-professional working
- Leadership and management experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of national priorities in specialty
- Evidence of autonomous practice
Desirable Criteria: Experience of audit and research.
