About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at University Hospital Crosshouse and University Hospital Ayr. As a key member of our ophthalmology and macular services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the delivery of ophthalmology and macular services, including consultant-led clinics, nurse-led clinics, and virtual diagnostic clinics.
  • Provide support to patients with a range of eye conditions, including macular degeneration and other ophthalmic disorders.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and support.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and carers to provide a patient-centered approach to care.
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in ophthalmology and healthcare support.
Requirements
  • SVQ3 in Healthcare or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate a range of core skills to competently undertake patient care and other tasks and activities.
  • UK driving license and car ownership essential for this role.
