About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Lead Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer. As a key member of our quality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of components delivered from our global supply chain. You will work closely with other team members to improve suppliers' quality and delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluate the capability of new and existing component vendors.
  2. Coordinate the launch of new products from the supply chain.
  3. Develop under-performing suppliers through collaborative improvement activities.
  4. Promptly review and approve PPAPs, maintain records, and update departmental KPIs.
  5. Organize measurements and data analysis to validate PPAPs.
  6. Create and maintain inspection plans for incoming parts.
  7. Request and expedite supplier 8D reports for nonconforming parts.
  8. Lead root cause analysis as required and verify effectiveness of actions.
  9. Act as Supplier Development Engineer when required, collaborating with suppliers to deliver expected quality levels.
  10. Ensure that part and process development uses tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, measurement system analysis, value stream analysis, control plan, and work instructions.
  11. Represent quality within the supplier base through leadership, coaching, and supporting engagement.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree or recognized quality management qualification.
  • A qualified ISO 9001 auditor, preferably lead assessor.
  • Previous SQ experience in automotive manufacturing or similar industry.
  • NPI experience and managing suppliers to deliver quality requirements.
  • Ability to lead, influence, and support; challenge with a positive attitude.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with collaboration ability.
  • Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and core tools.
  • Quality tool experience and method knowledge.
  • GD&T and metrology knowledge, as well as 3D CAD drawing interpretation skills.
  • Able to present data accurately and effectively.
  • Planning and prioritizing activities with autonomy and ability to travel.
  • Holding a full clean driving license.
