We have an exciting opportunity for a Control Systems & Software Engineer to join our team.

About the Role

This position involves working with marine, offshore, or sub-sea equipment design. The ideal candidate will have experience in commissioning and delivering systems to clients. HSB Technical's client is a well-established business entity.

The duties and responsibilities of the Control Systems & Software Engineer include:

  • Preparing project documentation, including design basis, functional specifications, and procedures for FAT, SIT, and SAT.
  • Developing design concepts into detailed designs, covering software development life cycle, I/O lists, alarm lists, design reports, cause & effect matrices, and FMECA.
  • Supporting equipment procurement by preparing RFQs and technical specifications.
  • Collaborating with production teams to address design issues and assist in creating as-built documentation.
  • Overseeing start-up, commissioning, and factory acceptance testing (FAT), while also supporting site commissioning, integration, and acceptance testing (SAT).
  • Preparing final project close-out documentation, including drawing updates, O&M manuals, and spare parts lists.
  • Delivering after-sales service and technical support to clients.

The role requires occasional travel within the UK and globally. You may be involved in commissioning, site integration, site acceptance, and after-sales service activities.

Requirements

To be successful in this position, you should have:

  • A degree in Marine Engineering, Instrumentation & Controls Engineering, or a related Electrical discipline.
  • Demonstrated dedication to technical excellence and innovation in project execution.
  • A full, clean driving license.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally on short notice.
  • Offshore BOSIET training.
