Job Title

Private Client Tax Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Private Client Tax Manager to join our team at Evelyn Partners Group. As a key member of our private client tax team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of personal clients with complex tax affairs, including HNWIs with a focus on private equity executives, entrepreneurs, and trusts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional client service by maintaining client relationships and liaising proactively with clients on advisory matters
  • Manage day-to-day tax planning projects, including succession planning using trusts and corporate structures, capital gains, and inheritance tax issues
  • Assist Partners and Directors in tax planning projects and lead on compliance and advisory matters
  • Manage HMRC enquiries and disclosures, and deal with HMRC correspondence of both compliance and advisory nature
  • Responsible for billing and monitoring budgets
  • Review compliance and basic advisory work prepared by junior members of staff
  • Assist with managing junior members of staff, including helping them with technical and personal development
  • Present at technical training sessions
  • Engage in personal business development activities and support business development activities of the team
  • Maintain technical knowledge
Requirements

Key Skills and Experience

  • Significant relevant experience gained within a professional services firm
  • Sound knowledge of private client tax issues and dealing with complex capital gains tax and inheritance tax matters
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering tax planning/advisory projects
  • People management and organisational experience

Professional Qualifications and Education

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant and/or Chartered Tax Adviser
