Head of Specialty Lines Underwriting

The Head of GSI Specialty Lines Underwriting will be responsible for developing and implementing underwriting strategies for GSI Specialty Lines. This role will require strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement underwriting strategies for GSI Specialty Lines, including the development of underwriting guidelines and policies.
- Provide thought leadership on specialty lines topics and lead the Specialty Lines Underwriting Roundtable.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address emerging risks and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including underwriting teams, claims teams, and reinsurance colleagues.
- Ensure that underwriting strategies and guidelines are aligned with Munich Re's overall approach and are consistent with industry best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to underwriting teams to ensure that they have the necessary tools and resources to perform their roles effectively.
- Identify and address opportunities for improving underwriting performance and profitability.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of specialty lines markets and trends, and provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in specialty lines underwriting, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to develop and implement underwriting strategies and guidelines.
- Strong understanding of specialty lines markets and trends, with the ability to provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
