Ecologist to Senior Ecologist

We are seeking an experienced ecologist or senior ecologist to join our team at FPCR Environment and Design Ltd. As a leading integrated design practice, we work extensively throughout the UK, delivering high-quality ecological assessments, surveys, and mitigation strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and deliver ecological projects, collaborating with our talented team of ecologists, landscape architects, and environmental planners.
- Develop and implement ecological assessments, surveys, and mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with UK ecology legislation, guidelines, and best practice.
- Provide expert advice to clients on biodiversity net gain, DEFRA statutory biodiversity metric, and associated reports and plans.
- Collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including clients, colleagues, and external partners.
- Contribute to the development of the ecology team, sharing knowledge and expertise to drive the practice forward.
- At least a degree in ecology, environmental science, or a related field.
- For the Senior Ecologist role, a proven track record in managing and delivering ecological projects, meeting deadlines, and leading teams.
- For the Ecologist role, at least 3 years of experience in ecological consultancy, with a strong focus on conducting surveys, assessments, and project management.
- Sound knowledge of UK ecology legislation, guidelines, and best practice.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Membership or eligibility for membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIEEM).
- A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
