Job Title: Manufacturing Support Engineer

Job Summary:

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Support Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you'll be responsible for supporting the delivery of precision engineered metallics, driving performance on track throughout the season. You'll work closely with our Manufacturing Engineering and Planning teams to optimize the flow of work into the Machine Shop, ensuring efficient and robust processes that meet our OEE targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Planning to schedule and accept work into the Machine Shop, respecting project planning and available capacity.
  • Work with Shift Leads and Team Leaders to support the delivery of (RFTIF) right first time, in full.
  • Deliver work acceptance into the shop with reliable and consistent set and run times estimates.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering to ensure raw material requirements are known and considered at the earliest opportunity.
  • Identify and plan for long lead items, such as gauges, bespoke cutters, and fixtures, to ensure timely arrival in the Machine Shop.
  • Contribute to the review of final set up and run times to support future planning estimates and drive improvement projects.
  • Communicate critical information and project opportunities to our Process Engineers.
  • Provide support, ideas, and data to enhance the development of our MRP & MES systems.
Requirements:
  • Experience working in a high-technology small batch precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of cross-functional liaison and delivery management.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent knowledge of MRP and MES systems.
  • Experience introducing new working practices to achieve world-class manufacturing status.
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement Methodologies and Control Mechanisms.
