Maintenance and Facilities Management Opportunity

This position offers a challenging role for an experienced individual with a background in maintenance, health and safety, and facilities management.

  1. Carry out routine and reactive maintenance tasks to maintain school premises at a high standard.
  2. Oversee the general upkeep of school buildings, grounds, and facilities.
  3. Develop and implement health and safety strategies, including regular risk assessments and compliance checks.
  4. Perform minor repairs and maintenance (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting).
  5. Work with contractors for complex repairs and maintenance.
  6. Keep accurate records of building maintenance and health and safety inspections.
Essential Attributes:
  • Proven experience in a maintenance role, preferably within a school or similar environment.
  • Excellent DIY/maintenance skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry).
  • A flexible approach to work, including early starts and emergency response outside regular hours.
  • Experience maintaining building systems (e.g., heating, lighting, security).
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and manage compliance with school policies.
Required Competencies:
  • Enhanced DBS check on the update service, or willingness to apply.
  • A flexible, hands-on attitude towards tasks.

Annual Salary: £42,000
