Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care, as directed by the Practice Lead Nurse, GPs, and Practice Manager.
  • Conduct New Patient Health Checks and NHS Health Checks.
  • Gather information for chronic disease management.
  • Provide basic wound care and chaperone patients during examinations.
  • Record ECGs and perform phlebotomy.
  • Manage vaccine and cold chain storage, monitoring, and recording.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of nurses' and treatment rooms.
  • Order health promotion literature and stock as required.
  • Participate in administrative systems and attend training meetings.
  • Accurately record patient information and report any potential issues to senior staff.

Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with previous experience in a Healthcare Assistant role, preferably in primary care. You should be able to work effectively in a team, follow direction, and use your own initiative. Excellent communication skills and a compassionate nature are essential.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of using IT systems, including SystmOne.
  • Phlebotomy qualification or training.
