We are supporting a leading food manufacturer based in South Lanarkshire as they have an opening for a maintenance engineer to work on days only.

The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of equipment and providing full engineering support under the leadership of the Engineering Team Leaders and the Chief Engineer. This includes planned and preventative maintenance, development of PPM's where possible, resolving machine breakdowns to ensure maximum line efficiency of the production process, and maintaining the engineering stores by identifying parts and raising requisition forms for repairs and stock replenishment.

On Offer:

£46,566 per annum, Monday to Friday working hours with a 28-day annual leave entitlement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute routine maintenance activities to prevent equipment failure and maintain optimal production levels.
  • Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Team Leaders and the Chief Engineer to develop and implement efficient maintenance strategies.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, ordering replacement parts as needed.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require a formal engineering qualification to at least City and Guilds level, ONC/HNC level or equivalent, and/or extensive experience working as an engineer in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge and experience of modern processing plant machinery is preferred, as is previous experience of food processing equipment. You must also be proficient in using electrical test equipment, reading schematic diagrams, and working with single and 3-phase installations including motors, inverters, and PLC's.
