Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in Old Age Psychiatry
  • Develop and implement clinical strategies to improve patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care
  • Conduct clinical audits and service evaluations to inform service development
  • Participate in research and service evaluation projects
  • Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical evidence and best practices

Requirements:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council
  • Inclusion on or eligible for inclusion on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council or within 6 months of CCST/CCT or equivalent in Old Age Psychiatry
  • Section Approval and Approved Clinician Status or demonstrated ability to gain approval
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to use own car for work-related travel
  • Excellent clinical knowledge and skills in Old Age Psychiatry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management
  • Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
  • Experience in working in similar roles at a relevant level
  • Training or experience as a DoLs assessor
