Join Safran Seats as a Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Cwmbran, England. As a key member of our industrial engineering team, you will play a crucial role in improving the production process of high-quality goods efficiently and effectively.

About the Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing engineering support to the assembly lines
  • Designing new systems, equipment, and processes for the introduction of new products or the improvement of existing ones
  • Facilitating problem-solving activities
  • Eliminating non-value-adding activities
  • Maintaining Bill of Materials within the ERP system
  • Reviewing engineering drawings and process ECRs
  • Managing operations configuration tracker
  • Supporting production readiness reviews
  • Assisting with ergonomic workshops
  • Raising necessary documentation to incorporate change
  • Supporting operations departments with operator training and development
  • Implementing 5S and safety standards
  • Staying up-to-date with current and developing trends in the manufacturing industry
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • HNC and pathway study opportunity
  • Experience/time served apprentice
  • Knowledge and application of lean manufacturing principles
  • Experience of manipulating and viewing 3D CAD data to extract information
  • Specification of tooling requirements
  • Ability to interpret 2D drawings
  • Good working knowledge of Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
  • Excellent knowledge of design for assembly/manufacture methodology
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of MS applications and MRP system (preferably BaaN)
