Design Technology Technician Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Design Technology (DT) specialist to join our team at a fantastic secondary school in Waltham Forest, East London. The successful candidate will assist teachers with the preparation and setup of DT projects and practical lessons.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Design Technician in a secondary school setting, with a strong working knowledge of 3D printing systems and techniques. A passion for Design Technology and a desire to ignite a similar passion in learners is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers with preparation and setup of DT projects and practical lessons.
  • Manage and maintain the DT workshop, equipment, and resources to ensure a safe and inspiring learning environment.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to students during their design and construction processes.
  • Organise and manage stock inventory, ordering new materials when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Experience of computer aided design (CAD).
  • A strong working knowledge of 3D printing systems and techniques.
  • Experience of handling materials, including polymers, metals, and woods.
  • A passion for Design Technology and a desire to ignite a similar passion in learners.
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.

Salary: £15-17 per hour
