Freelance Mid-Weight Art Director

Klick Health, a leading healthcare marketing agency, is seeking a talented Freelance Mid-Weight Art Director to fill a key role in our team. With 26 years of experience in helping life science clients bring their groundbreaking ideas to market, we're committed to creating an ecosystem for talented and empathetic individuals to chase their passions while building long-lasting relationships.

Role Description and Expectations

As a Freelance Mid-Weight Art Director, you will be responsible for generating innovative ideas, creating concepts for advertising and promotional content, and developing work from draft stage through finished product with your copy partner. You will work closely with our Creative and Client Service teams to ensure adherence to client's marketing strategies and objectives within specified deadlines. You will also supervise the work of junior creatives on your projects.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Shape and Execute Creative Strategy
    • Understand how it drives deliverables and aligns with broader business objectives
  • Lead the Development and Execution of Art Direction and Design
    • Ensure the highest level of creative excellence and brand consistency across web, print, and broadcast media
  • Act as a Key Decision-Maker
    • Independently drive projects from concept to completion, and provide creative leadership
  • Effectively Manage Multiple Projects
    • Prioritize and delegate tasks to ensure seamless project flow
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally
    • Work with teams including copywriters, developers, and UX/UI designers, acting as a senior creative resource to solve challenges and ensure alignment
  • Proactively Seek Clarification
    • On project requirements, especially in areas such as UX, technology, and customer insights, and make informed creative decisions accordingly
  • Demonstrate Exceptional Communication Skills
    • Offer clear, constructive feedback, and guide team members in both formal and informal settings
  • Maintain Regular Communication
    • With the Creative Director and senior leadership, aligning on project vision and contributing to strategic discussions
  • Actively Participate in Internal Reviews and Client Presentations
    • Clearly articulate the creative rationale, provide strategic insights, and make recommendations
  • Develop a Deep Understanding of Client Brands and Industries
    • Ensure all creative work is on-brand and aligns with client goals
  • Lead Brainstorming Sessions
    • Contribute innovative ideas that push creative boundaries and elevate the quality of the final product

Requirements:

  • 3-5 Years of Experience
    • In an art direction or creative role, preferably in an agency setting, with proven experience in leading creative projects
  • Experience Working within the Pharmaceutical Industry
    • Proven ability to deliver high-quality, consistent work with strong attention to detail
  • Experience Leading Cross-Functional Teams
    • In delivering integrated creative solutions
  • An Innovative Mindset
    • With a willingness to bring fresh ideas and challenge the status quo in a constructive manner
  • Familiarity with Health and Pharmaceutical Advertising Regulations
    • Is a plus
  • Proven Proficiency in Design Software
    • Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, with the ability to quickly adapt to new tools and technologies
  • Ability to Work Independently and Collaboratively
    • In a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with a demonstrated capacity to handle increasing responsibility
