About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Dairy Buyer to join our client's team in North London. As a key member of the procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing high-quality dairy commodities while maintaining commercial targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including market research, competitive pricing, supplier selection, and negotiation.
  • Responsible for sourcing dairy commodities such as butter, cream, milk, and cheese.
  • Continuously review contracts, benchmark, tender, re-negotiate, and execute contracts/agreements with suppliers to improve quality, service, and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor dairy procurement success criteria to track departmental performance.
  • Liaise with internal departments, including production, NPD, finance, technical, sales, and operations teams, to ensure smooth procurement processes.
  • Analyze departmental figures and create reports for the management team.
  • Present reports, figures, and key information to the senior management team.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in procurement or indirect roles.
  • Experience in fast-paced retail/FMCG environments is essential.
  • Knowledge of dairy buying/procurement.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise and influence effectively at all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical approach.
  • Excellent understanding of MS Office products, including advanced Excel.
