The team provides a dedicated service for children and young people with learning disabilities, where there are concerns about their behaviour and / or mental health and consists of Nurses, Psychiatry and Psychology, a Behaviour Therapist and Support Workers. We work closely with multiple outside agencies such as school, colleges and social care. Constantly seeking to improve the service we offer there is scope for service-wide and professional development.

As a Clinical Psychologist, you will deliver specialist assessments and therapeutic interventions with children, young people and their families, and encourage and support the wider team members to provide psychologically based care, with a strong emphasis on multi-disciplinary team working, risk assessment, care planning and safeguarding. You will provide consultation and training to the team and external agencies and there will be opportunities to supervise assistant and trainee clinical psychologists.

The post-holder will also be involved in supporting the improvement processes taking place, in particular continuing to ensure parity of service with generic CAMHS whilst tailoring provision to meet the specific needs of our client population, for example leading the outcome measurement programme and contributing to our evidence base. There will be considerable scope to shape the role and develop your areas of specialist interest in line with NSFT / University of East Anglia research programmes.

Post-graduate degree (or its equivalent if trained prior to 1996) in clinical psychology, accredited by BPS

Registered as a practitioner psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)Supervisor training, to be a supervisor of doctoral programme clinical psychology trainees or willing to undertake trainingExperience working as a qualified clinical psychologist (Band 7) and able to evidence appropriate knowledge and experience in practice to enable the post holder to clinically supervise trainee clinical psychologistExperience of representing psychology within MDT setting (clinical and organisational contexts)Ability to travel independently
