**About the Role**

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical and feasibility studies, including site investigations
  • Develop detailed structural designs and perform hand calculations
  • Prepare reports, contract documents, and manage tenders
  • Provide technical advice to clients and junior team members
  • Obtain planning and/or buildings regulation approval
  • Monitor and inspect work undertaken by contractors
  • Resolve design and development problems
  • Manage budget and project resources
  • Evaluate projects' compliance with legal requirements
  • Assist with training and development of the engineering team
  • Supervise construction work on-site under contract, prepare interim and final accounts, claims, and practical completion

Requirements:

  • MEng degree in Structural Engineering or a related field
  • Chartered or close to chartership with IStructE
  • Extensive knowledge of consulting engineering practices and procedures
  • Awareness of statutory requirements, technical publications, and guidelines
  • Experience working on projects from house extensions to new factories, schools, or housing developments
  • Familiarity with CDM2015, Party Wall, and Listed Buildings
  • Negotiation, supervisory, and leadership experience
  • Ability to work under deadlines and within budgets on large-scale projects
