Job Title: MET TECHNICIAN

At Corus Consultancy, we are seeking a skilled MET TECHNICIAN to join our team. As a MET TECHNICIAN, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and diagnose damaged mechanical and electrical components on vehicles
  • Remove and refit components before and after body repair work
  • Work on repairing vehicles involved in accidents or similar incidents
Vehicle Technician Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Vehicle Technician, you will perform a mix of technical and customer interface duties. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Inspecting vehicles and diagnosing any required work
  • Discussing required repairs with customers
  • Calculating the expected time and cost of vehicle work
  • Repairing or replacing components as required
  • Road testing vehicles to test repair work
  • Fitting and servicing vehicle accessories, including immobilisers, alarms, and stereos
  • Performing service checks
  • Performing vehicle maintenance tasks, such as changing oil and air filters, as required
What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vehicle Technician who can work with different vehicles, including cars, lorries, vans, buses, and motorcycles. You will have a strong understanding of vehicle components, including engines, brakes, air-conditioning, suspension, transmission, security, and sound systems.

You will be responsible for supporting customers and making them feel valued. You will also perform high-quality work at all times, ensuring customers can trust you with their vehicles.

Requirements:
  • Superior knowledge of motor vehicles and repair and maintenance tasks
  • Verbal communication skills for explaining vehicle work to customers
  • Customer service skills for positive interactions with vehicle owners
  • Diagnostic and problem-solving skills for determining vehicle problems
  • Manual dexterity for working on vehicle parts
  • Competency using diagnostic equipment
  • Mathematical skills for calculating quotes
