Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aimed at improving learner progression and integration of language skills into broader subject areas.
  • Collaborate with vocational departments to track and record student progress, attendance, and engagement using digital platforms.
  • Work towards achieving high retention and qualification success rates while ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes wellbeing and adheres to safeguarding protocols.
  • Engage with learners and guardians regarding progress via scheduled meetings and digital communication.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience teaching English to Further Education (FE) learners with a strong focus on vocational contexts.
  • Ability to embed English language skills in practical vocational contexts with a proactive solution-focused approach to classroom management.
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent; a degree or relevant qualification in English is required.
  • A Level 5 teaching qualification is preferred but not essential for candidates with substantial experience.
